Easter weekend fun!

Saturday we went over to Astrid’s to celebrate her trio turning 2. I cannot believe they are 2 years old!! They have gotten so big since I last saw them and are quite the active/talkative group. We unloaded the kids in the backyard and expected them to all take off and start playing, but Ava was the only one that did. She just walked right over to everyone and started playing and made herself at home. Andrew and Mia took a good 10min to warm up, but then they were all over the place too. Here are some pics from the day:

Sweet Gabi in her little pinafore that Astrid made, little monkeys that matched the theme...so cute!

Ava made a mad dash for the glider when we got there

Mia stood and took everything in for quite a while

Andrew climbing up to go down the slide

Ian sporting his shirt that Astrid also made

Mia and the dog next door. It looks mean, but was actually very sweet and Ava & Mia loved it!

Ava squirmed her way into the car with Gabi

Ava looking so sweet

Astrid & Todd with Gabi, Ian & Sofi

Sunday we went to church and as usual, the girls make it to the sermon and then they are completely done with sitting there quietly so we whisked them off to the nursery. Andrew did great and sat quietly between my mom and dad with his sippy cup and book. I’m glad he was so well behaved and wish he was more like this at home! We attempted to take a picture after the service in front of the blooming cross, but it turned out like all of our other family pics. Will they ever all look in the same direction?!

After church we got the kids down for nap and I started cooking and getting ready for family to come over. The kids got up just in time to eat and then we had a little Easter egg hunt in the backyard. I think they’re still a little too young for this which is why I didn’t go all out with the big basket full of stuff. My mom did get them some Easter buckets and eggs just so they could get the concept of carrying the bucket and putting eggs in. Andrew probably did the best with it, but after he would collect a lot of eggs he would bend down and start taking them out one by one and putting them back in the grass. Ava carried her bucket for a bit, but found a better use for it on her head and Mia didn’t care about the bucket at all and just carried around an egg in each hand. I think next year they’ll get it a little better. Here are some pics from our Easter Sunday:

Mia opening her gift from Great Granny

Ava pointing at the eggs

Mia carrying around her eggs

Andrew picking up eggs

Mia still carrying her eggs around

Playing with the balls from Nana

And this is what Ava decided was a better use for her Easter bucket

It was a busy weekend, but a lot of fun and great memories too!

We had so much fun on Saturday! I promise that the 2nd b-day is way better than the 1st. Time flies. Your kids are precious & people are still talking about them & how cute/well behaved they were. Can't wait for our next playdate!
